Sidra Rind

Sidra is the Assistant Director and Outreach Coordinator at the South Asia Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. She has a joint PhD in Educational Policy Studies and Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her PhD dissertation is an ethnographic inquiry about the gender norms and gender relations in Muslim countries, particularly Pakistan, and their implications for the distribution of power and control within culture and society. Her research interests center on curriculum development, teacher development, gender and sexuality related issues, race/ethnicity, human rights, and women/girls’ rights.
